Scammers are distributing remote access viruses disguised as letters from the NBU. The regulator urges citizens not to open suspicious archives or links in emails.

The National Bank of Ukraine has detected a fraudulent campaign involving the distribution of emails with malicious attachments that mimic an official letter from the NBU. This was reported by UNN with reference to the regulator's statement on Facebook.

Details

It is noted that the attackers send emails from various email addresses, allegedly on behalf of the National Bank of Ukraine, while the layout of the email resembles the design of the official NBU website page.

In the text of the email, the attackers urge the recipient to follow a link and download an archive containing a list of documents; however, the archive actually contains malware for remote access to your computer

The National Bank urges citizens not to follow the attached links and not to download any files, emphasizing that NBU employees use exclusively official corporate email for electronic correspondence, which contains the domain @bank.gov.ua.
