A Kyiv resident has been sentenced to 7 years and 6 months of imprisonment for the brutal murder of a stray dog. He threw the animal down the stairs while holding his 11-month-old daughter.

A court sentenced a Kyiv resident who killed a dog by throwing it down the stairs to seven years and six months of imprisonment. The man treated the animal cruelly while holding his 11-month-old daughter in his arms, writes UNN with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Details

"The Dniprovskyi District Court has sentenced a Kyiv resident for cruelly treating a stray dog, which led to the death of the animal (Part 3 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)", - the prosecutor's office reported.

It is reported that the man, who has repeatedly been brought to criminal responsibility, was "sentenced to 7 years and 6 months of imprisonment."

Prosecutors in court proved that the convict, who lived with his cohabitant, her two sons and their common 11-month-old daughter, brought a stray dog Milka to the apartment. Later, he began to push her into the entrance. The attacker kicked the animal and then, holding his daughter in his arms, threw the dog down the stairs, after which he started beating it again.

The examination showed that the dog's death was caused by numerous injuries to internal organs, resulting from blows, falls and blood loss. Footage of the cruel treatment of the animal was captured by surveillance cameras in the building.

"The convict himself did not admit his guilt in court, but admitted that he did push the dog off the stairs," the prosecutor's office said.

Addition

In Kyiv, a 30-year-old man forced a dog to eat its own feces for defecating in the hallway. All this was seen by an 8-year-old daughter, who recorded the abuse of the animal on video.

As UNN reported, proceedings were opened in Kyiv due to the brutal beating of an 11-year-old toy terrier. Investigators seized the injured animal and transferred it to a specialized shelter.
