Law enforcement officers conducted 180 searches and issued 32 notices of suspicion for illegal arms trafficking. A total of 154 units of firearms were seized and 20 caches were uncovered.

Law enforcement officers conducted a large-scale special operation to combat illegal arms trafficking, during which they carried out more than 180 searches in various regions of Ukraine. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine, according to UNN.

Details

The operation involved operatives from the Strategic Investigations Department, investigators from the Main Directorate of the National Police, employees of the SBU, the Prosecutor's Office, the explosive ordnance disposal service, and the internal security department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Based on the results of the investigative actions, 32 people were notified of suspicion regarding the illegal handling of weapons - specifically their storage and sale.

Law enforcement officers also discovered 20 caches of weapons and ammunition. They were located both in frontline regions and in western regions, including Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv regions.

In total, the following were seized over the week:

  • 154 units of small arms;
    • 904 grenade launchers, grenades, and mines;
      • over 56.5 thousand rounds of ammunition;
        • almost 80 kg of explosives;
          • 134 magazines and weapon components.

            The police note that some caches contained combat kits sufficient for conducting military operations - among the seized items were assault rifles, grenade launchers, anti-personnel mines, plastic explosives, and artillery shells.

            In the Rivne region, a serviceman was notified of suspicion of attempted murder after firing an assault rifle at TCC (Territorial Recruitment Center) employees and a police officer.
