Ukraine and the United States signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to improve nuclear and radiation safety. The document provides for joint projects on safety assessment, emergency response and exchange of regulatory experience.
Ukraine's Foreign Ministry welcomed the UN resolution on human rights violations in all Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia, which calls on Russia to stop its aggression and withdraw its troops. The resolution condemns Russia's human rights violations and demands an end to the deportation of children.
Ukraine expects to commission the first power unit based on AR1000 technology at Khmelnytsky NPP by 2028-2029. It will add about 1,200 MW to the grid and strengthen energy independence.
NNEGC Energoatom and Westinghouse have signed an agreement to build Europe's first AP1000 reactor, which will be installed at Khmelnytsky NPP. It will have the largest capacity in Ukraine - 1100 MW.
