US-Russia negotiations: Kremlin seeks to buy time to seize new territories - media
Kyiv • UNN
Russia seeks to prolong negotiations with the United States in order to seize more Ukrainian territories. The Kremlin hopes that Washington will allow advances on the battlefield.
Negotiations between the US and Russian delegations in Saudi Arabia have one goal for the Russian leadership: to buy time. This is reported by The Moscow Times, citing sources familiar with the Kremlin's position, informs UNN.

It is noted that for the Kremlin, the longest possible delay in peace negotiations is an opportunity to seize as much Ukrainian territory as possible and gain an advantage over Kyiv in relations with the United States, as "Moscow is unable to advance quickly on this battlefield."
Now time is on our side, and we will try to make the most of it
The authors point out that although Russian dictator Vladimir Putin stated that in principle he agrees with Trump's proposed 30-day ceasefire, he stressed that "nuances" are important for Moscow.
"This is a signal that Russia will insist on its maximalist demands before agreeing to lay down its arms.
The publication's interlocutors said that these nuances were instructed to be discussed in detail by Putin's representatives at the talks in Riyadh on Monday.
"Ideally, the Kremlin hopes that Washington will either silently allow Russia to continue advancing on the battlefield while diplomats negotiate, or even put pressure on Kyiv to completely withdraw its troops from the Russian-occupied regions, including Kherson and Zaporizhzhia," an unnamed Russian official told the media.
Recall
US State Department spokeswoman Temmy Bruce said that Ukraine and Russia are now "closer than ever before" to starting a full ceasefire. At the same time, according to her, a lasting peace will be discussed only after a complete ceasefire, and this scenario is real, because "it has already happened in human history."
