Up to UAH 1 million for changes: how the "Time to Act, Ukraine!" competition helps communities

The "MHP - Hromadi" Charitable Foundation announced the launch of the social initiatives competition "Time to Act, Ukraine!", reports UNN.

"Time to Act, Ukraine!" is a grant program from the "MHP-Hromadi" Charitable Foundation that supports the development of communities in various regions of Ukraine.

This program has been operating for 10 years in 13 regions of Ukraine. It is aimed at supporting communities in their development through grant projects. We teach communities a project-oriented approach so that they can more clearly define the issues and look for solutions 

To participate in the competition, the community submits a relevant application. In it, it describes what it wants to create with the money received and what the result will be for the people living in the area. For example, last year the Zgurivka community wanted to create a free open-air cinema space. Representatives of the Zgurivka Village Council submitted an application and received co-financing. And the mobile cinema space will now travel through the villages of the community and gather residents for joint screenings of Ukrainian films.

The main mission of the competition is to help communities develop. This year, the jury of the competition prioritizes initiatives that help overcome the challenges of war.

Our first and key area is the rehabilitation and reintegration of veterans. This is a very important criterion, and many such projects are submitted. Every year we support this industry, and we also create inclusive spaces. After all, we understand the challenges of today. In addition, we have many challenges related to energy security. We want to and help communities to be self-sufficient 

Depending on the chosen lot, communities can receive up to UAH 500,000 in grant support from the Foundation. And taking into account co-financing, they can attract up to 1 million hryvnias for their development.

We are now talking about more than 550 projects - winners of the "Time to Act, Ukraine" competition in 10 years. More than 3 million people living in their own communities are covered. This is UAH 42 million that we have channeled into the development of social infrastructure in settlements in the territory where active Ukrainian citizens live 

Applications will be accepted from March 18, 2025. Applications can be submitted by public associations, local self-government bodies, communal enterprises, institutions, organizations, educational institutions, and healthcare institutions.

Application deadline: April 21, 2025 (until 4:00 p.m. Kyiv time).

Announcement of winners: June 10, 2025.

"MHP - Hromadi" is a Ukrainian charitable foundation that started its activities in 2015. Its main mission is the comprehensive development of communities.

The geography of operations includes 13 regions of Ukraine: more than 700 towns and villages. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Foundation has been systematically supporting people in combat zones, Ukrainian defenders and rescuers, communities, hospitals and maternity hospitals, charitable institutions that care for orphans and the elderly, as well as people who have been left homeless and without means of subsistence due to the war.
