Ukrainian military began using unguided rockets launched from FP-2 drones

The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have begun using drones equipped with unguided aerial rockets (UAR). This information was confirmed by the Commander of the USF, Robert Brovdi ("Madyar"). It is known that FP-2 drones are being used for such purposes, UNN reports.

USF birds have begun using UARs from long-range drones at an operational depth of up to 500 km, along with a 60 kg strike wing warhead,

- reported "Madyar".

Even before the information regarding the use of UARs was confirmed, the military released a video showing the deployment of the rockets.

The strikes hit a strategic secure communications hub of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in occupied Crimea, a gathering point for enemy leadership in the occupied part of the Donetsk region, and port cranes in occupied Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia region, which were used to provide logistics for the occupying forces. Additionally, a Project 10410 border patrol ship was hit in the city of Kaspiysk, Republic of Dagestan, Russian Federation.

Drones manufactured by the Ukrainian company Fire Point—models FP-1 and FP-2—were used for the strike. This information was confirmed in a post on X by the company's co-owner and chief designer, Denys Shtilerman.

It is very important that the strategic secure communications hub of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy was attacked by our new modernization of the FP-2 drone, which can launch rockets in FPV mode,

- wrote Shtilerman.

What is a UAR and what are its advantages

"Healing UAR" is an unguided aerial rocket used on helicopters and ground-attack aircraft against surface targets.

But no helicopter or aircraft has a chance of reaching the places where the Freedom-Loving Ukrainian Unmanned Bird flies—therefore, this combined method of using a kamikaze + 8 UARs opens up completely different possibilities," wrote the USF commander.

"Madyar" added that drones equipped with rockets can primarily be used in the Russian rear, specifically against mobile MANPADS groups and machine gunners guarding air defense systems.

The use of such guided rockets significantly increases the level of destruction that a single drone can inflict.
