Ukraine receives $400 million loan through the World Bank

Ukraine received about USD 400 million from the UK through the World Bank to finance pensions and healthcare with a 19-year maturity and a 5-year grace period.
Ukraine has received about $400 million more under the guarantee of the UK through the World Bank Trust Fund, the Ministry of Finance reported, UNN writes.

"The state budget of Ukraine received about $400 million under the guarantee of the United Kingdom through the World Bank Trust Fund," the Ministry of Finance reported.
The Ministry of Finance indicates that the financing will be used to partially compensate for the state budget expenditures made to reimburse pension payments and salaries of healthcare workers under the medical guarantee program.
The loan is granted on favorable terms: 19-year maturity with a 5-year grace period.
"The assistance of international partners is critically important for financing the social sphere of Ukraine," said Finance Minister Sergiy Marchenko.
Thanking for the assistance, the minister separately expressed his gratitude to the UK "for its intention to maintain direct budget support for Ukraine next year".

The total amount of financial assistance from the UK since February 2022 reaches 2 billion dollars.
