Ukraine and Estonia call on EU to step up against Russia's Gazprom and Russian oil companies

The prime ministers of Ukraine and Estonia signed a joint statement on increasing rehabilitation pressure on the Russian Federation. The countries are calling for a full trade embargo and sanctions against Russian oil and gas companies.
Ukraine and Estonia adopted a joint statement following the meeting between Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal.
Ukraine has called on the EU to increase sanctions pressure on Russia, including the establishment of a full trade embargo, sanctions against Gazprom and Russian oil companies .

We welcome Estonia's active position in the European Union regarding sanctions and the use of frozen Russian assets, and call for increased sanctions pressure on Russia. This includes the establishment of a full trade embargo, sanctions against Gazprom and Russian oil companies. The preparation of the 16th package of sanctions should be accelerated with a focus on reducing Russia's income, in particular by restricting energy exports – its main source of income – and restricting access to sensitive goods and technologies, including metallurgy, nuclear and chemical industries
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal noted that the statement also confirmed their determination to resist the Russian aggressor; emphasized the unconditional political support of Ukraine from Estonia on all important issues; agreed to strengthen sanctions to counter Russia's shadow fleet.
