The head of the Office of the President reported on Trump's commitment to ending the war in Ukraine on the terms of a just peace. Preparatory consultations were held with the team of the newly elected US President to ensure a quick start after the inauguration.

After the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President-elect Donald Trump in Paris, it became clear that Trump is determined to end the war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak in an interview with the Karpiak on Suspilne project, UNN reports .

Yermak said that Donald Trump is seeking to end the war on the terms of a just peace. He also noted that supporting a dictatorship is unacceptable for the United States. Yermak explained that the meeting of the three presidents in Paris was a response to Russian propaganda, which spreads false claims about Ukraine's unwillingness to reach peace. He also emphasized the importance of coordinated actions and joint plans with the new administration.

"So that they could hear us, so that they could really - and this is not easy - very quickly get all the information for three years, could get firsthand information about what is happening on the frontline today, all the risks of all this talk about some kind of cease-fire, just a cease-fire, without any guarantees. We clearly understood our position on guarantees, because it is very important for us to end this war with a just peace, to have very strong legal and operational guarantees, because in our experience, unfortunately, all the guarantees we had up to this point did not really provide us with security because this war happened," Yermak said.

The head of the OP noted that holding preparatory consultations with the team of US President-elect Donald Trump before the inauguration is a positive step. This will allow the parties to start working on specific issues immediately after January 20. The main topic, he said, remains the end of the war on the terms of a just peace.

"I believe this is on Ukraine's terms. Because all Ukraine needs is the restoration of international law, the restoration of our territorial integrity. And this is what we mean when we talk about a just peace," said the head of the OP.
