Three Greek shipping companies stop transporting Russian oil to avoid US sanctions

The three largest Greek shipping companies have stopped transporting Russian oil in compliance with US sanctions. This move increases dependence on Russia's Sovcomflot and smaller, lesser-known companies.
To avoid US sanctions, three major Greek shipping companies shipping companies Minerva Marine, Thenamaris and TMS Tankers have stopped transportation of Russian oil. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

It is noted that the three companies were active shippers of of Russian oil and fuel until September-October. All of them rejected requests for vessels to load Russian oil in November.
The withdrawal of Greek cargo carriers from the trade followed the the tightening of US sanctions imposed on Russian oil supplies.
In October, Washington imposed the first sanctions. They concerned the owners of tankers in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, that transport Russian oil at a price higher than the price set by the "The price limit of $60 per barrel set by the G7 countries.
Last week, the United States imposed sanctions on three more ships.

He was referring to the emergence of the so-called "dark fleet" shippers who transport oil from Russia and Iran under sanctions.

He cited the fact that Russian oil was now delivered to consumers in Asia in 8-10 weeks, and not two weeks as before sanctions, when oil was sold in Europe. This means that trade requires more tankers.
