The opening of the 15th Odesa International Film Festival took place in Kyiv

The 15th Odesa International Film Festival opened in Kyiv with a minute of silence for the victims of the war in Ukraine, and will screen national and international film programs until July 20.
On Sunday, the opening ceremony of the 15th Odesa International Film Festival took place at the Parkovy Concert and Exhibition Center in Kyiv, UNN reports .

The film festival opened with a minute of silence in memory of all those who died as a result of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. The 15th OIFF was opened by its president, Victoria Tigipko.
"A full-scale war has been going on in Ukraine for three years now. This is a war for our cultural identity in particular. The Odesa International Film Festival is an important part of this culture. And despite all the challenges, we will continue to support, develop and strengthen it," she emphasized.
The film festival will run until July 20, with screenings taking place at the Cinema House and the Oscar Cinema (Gulliver shopping center). The OIFF program will include national and international European competition programs, gala premiere programs, documentaries and films for children, and various film retrospectives.
The Gala Premiere program will feature, among others, such films from 2024 as The Konotop Witch by Andriy Kolesnyk, People vs. Cosmo by Letizia Dosh, Types of Mercy by Yorgos Latimos, and Substance by Coralie Farage.
The OIFF will host a summer film school and a special screening of the documentary project Culture vs War, which includes four short films with Serhiy Mikhalchuk, Akhtem Seitablaev, Serhiy Zhadan and the Antytila band.
The OIFF will end with the closing ceremony, where the Golden Duke winners will be announced.
