Ukraine's Foreign Ministry responded to a statement by a Belarusian official about claims to participate in peace talks on Ukraine. The ministry recalled Belarus' complicity in the aggression and pointed to the possibility of bringing it to justice.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was surprised by the statement of an official of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry that the Republic of Belarus allegedly claims a "place at the table of peace talks" where it seeks to receive some "security guarantees." This is stated in the statement of the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Georgiy Tykhyi, UNN reports.
The Belarusian regime, contrary to the second part of Article 18 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, which emphasizes that "the Republic of Belarus excludes military aggression from its territory against other states," in February 2022 became an accomplice in the full-scale armed invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation,
He added that the Russian Federation, which used the territory of its ally for armed aggression against Ukraine, is currently the only source of real security threats to Belarus.
All that Belarusian officials have the right to claim is a fair hearing in the process of bringing the aggressor and his accomplices to international legal responsibility for the crime of aggression against Ukraine,
