A new package of sanctions has been approved against 25 individuals and 7 organizations from Belarus who are involved in human rights violations, political repression, and support for the Russian Federation's war in Ukraine. This is reported by the Council of the European Union, according to UNN.

Details

These sanctions are aimed at individuals who actively support the lukashenko regime and its support for the Russian Federation's aggression.

The list includes high-ranking officials, including members of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, as well as the deputy chairman and secretary of this body. In addition, the sanctions affected the head of the ruling party, Oleg Ramanov, and a number of judges who made decisions that had a political connotation and contributed to the persecution of opposition figures.

The European Union has also imposed restrictions on well-known bodies directly subordinate to President Lukashenko, including the Department for Property Management. This agency brings significant income to the regime, strengthening its financial base.

The sanctions list also includes several Belarusian companies: the "Planar" and "Precision Electromechanics Plant" enterprises, as well as the "Tsibulka-Bel" agricultural company, which used forced labor of prisoners.

The EU has confirmed its support for the people of Belarus and their desire to build a free, democratic and sovereign state as part of a peaceful Europe.
