The Economic Court, based on the prosecutor's office submission, recovered 78 million hryvnias of inflation losses from the company that was supposed to build the metro to Vynohradar in Kyiv.

Details

According to the prosecutors' claim, the Economic Court decided to recover three percent per annum and inflation losses for the entire period of using budget funds in the amount of 78 million hryvnias from the unscrupulous contractor.

Earlier, the Supreme Court put an end to the case based on the claim of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office to recover more than 139 million hryvnias from the company that was supposed to build the metro from Syrets to Vynohradar. Instead of using the funds in the construction process, the company put the allocated funds on deposit.

The capital's prosecutor's office appealed to the court back in 2021 with a demand to recover the received interest in favor of the capital's community.

The law stipulates that in case of unjustified receipt of money, interest is charged for its use.

Reminder

From April 5, Kyiv changed the public transport routes on European Union Avenue due to the construction of the metro to Vynohradar. The number of sections with a permitted speed of 80 km/h has also been reduced.
