Ukraine's prime minister expects the blocked $61 billion U.S. aid package to be unblocked by Congress this month or next.

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said that the bill on the financing of Ukraine may be unblocked by the U.S. Congress as early as this month or at most next month. He said this in an interview with Bloomberg, writes UNN.

According to Bloomberg, Ukraine's prime minister said that the blocked US funding could arrive as early as this month.

Shmygal indicated that Ukrainian officials were in an "active dialog" with members of the US Congress from both parties. He also made it clear that he expects positive news "this month or at most next month".

A $61 billion aid package for Ukraine, approved in mid-February by the U.S. Senate, is still blocked in the Republican-majority House of Representatives.
