NATO and Ukraine launch review of Kyiv's defense procurement

The inaugural Strategic Review of Ukraine's Defense Procurement Conference was held in Luxembourg, aimed at bringing Ukraine's defense procurement system in line with NATO practices and standards.

Recently, the inaugural conference on the launch of the Strategic Defense Procurement Review of Ukraine took place in Luxembourg . This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna on her Facebook page, UNN reports.

Details

According to her, on March 18-19, the inaugural conference  of one of the flagship projects of the Comprehensive Assistance Package was held.

Stefanishyna emphasized that the goal of the Strategic Review is to help Ukraine reform its defense procurement system to align it with NATO practices and standards.

This is the first meeting of the working groups, in which experts from Ukraine and NATO member states will work together to develop recommendations to be adopted at the Washington Summit in July 2024. These recommendations will form the basis for further steps to ensure greater accountability, transparency and interoperability as part of Ukraine's preparation for future membership in the Alliance.

She added that the review is being conducted at the request of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The project is being led by experts from NATO and Ukraine in close cooperation with the NATO Procurement Agency, with support from Norway.
