Kyiv • UNN
The former head of the customs clearance department of the Odesa customs unjustifiably acquired assets worth over UAH 3.2 million, including 5 luxury cars purchased in the first year of the war.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption has established signs of the acquisition of unjustified assets by the former head of the customs clearance department of the Odesa customs of the State Customs Service of Ukraine for more than UAH 3.2 million, UNN reports, citing the NAPC statement.
Details
After full verification of the 2022 declaration, the agency found out that during the first year of the war, the official, his wife and daughter purchased 5 vehicles for more than UAH 7 million, namely:
- MERCEDES-BENZ GLS 400, 202
- MERCEDES-BENZ S 450, 2020;
- AUDI A5, 2022 model year;
- AUDI A6, 2022 model year;
- AUDI A4, 202
The NACP found that their cash savings and income received at the time of the purchases indicate that they could not have purchased the property using funds obtained from legal sources.
In addition, it turned out that the former customs official became the owner of a 2021 Mercedes Benz GLS 400 at a price below the minimum market price.
The materials were sent to the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) to resolve the issue of filing a lawsuit to recognize the ex-official's assets as unjustified and recover them for the state, as provided for in Article 290 of the Civil Procedure Code of Ukraine
