The Marshal of the Sejm visited a 16-year-old Ukrainian beaten in Warsaw for speaking his native language. He invited the family to parliament and promised to contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Deputy Marshal of the Polish Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, visited 16-year-old Ukrainian Artem, who was injured in a fight with Poles on the Świętokrzyski Bridge in Warsaw. The politician condemned the violence against the boy and invited him and his family to the parliament. He announced this on his Facebook page, UNN reports.
Details
During the visit, Czarzasty, along with his colleagues, expressed support for the Ukrainian. According to him, the beating occurred because the boy was speaking Ukrainian with his friends, for which a group of slightly older Polish teenagers ""rewarded" him with a skull fracture, knocked-out teeth, scars on his face, and a fear of leaving the house."
Artem's family told the Polish politicians about their life in Poland, saying they are happy to live there because their home is located in territories occupied by Russia. At the same time, the Ukrainians reportedly "see that something has changed," and the beating of Artem was a "blow that was hard to expect" for his parents.
I say this as a father, a grandfather, and simply as a human being: I do not accept violence. I do not agree with the incitement of hatred against people because of their nationality, language, or faith. And I do not agree with indifference to such situations. Poland cannot be a country where a child is afraid to speak their native language
The Ukrainian boy's family was invited to visit the Sejm and the Senate "as soon as they are ready," because "the Polish state must stand guard over the safety and dignity of every person."
