Kovalenko: Russia plans to manipulate German politics over Taurus missiles issue

The Kremlin is preparing an information attack on German politics, imposing a narrative about “candidates for peace and war.” Russia plans to threaten Germans with war if Taurus missiles are transferred to Ukraine.

The Kremlin will impose the narrative of a “candidate for peace” and a “candidate for war” in German politics. German citizens will be scared of war if Taurus missiles are transferred to Ukraine.  This was warned by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Kovalenko on his social media page, UNN reports

Russians are interfering in German political life with information. Their strategy is quite simple: through their own networks, they will impose the narrative of a “peace candidate” and a “war candidate.” Germans will be scared of war if “at least one Taurus flies over Russia”

- Kovalenko wrote on Telegram.

According to him, this is a typical Russian strategy. “And knowing Russians, we can say with certainty that the nation that chooses something else instead of strength at this time will lose. And thus, it will guarantee its society, to begin with, trenches somewhere in the Baltic States in 4-6 years,” Kovalenko said.

He pointed out that force is needed right now to prevent this from happening. And there should be no alternative to force in the policy of countries.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has once again refused to supply Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles, as he considers this decision to be a mistake.

On December 16, members of the Bundestag voted to dissolve the German government. The country will soon hold early elections.
