A draft law No. 14403 on restoring weekends on public holidays has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada. A petition demanding the return of holidays for the psychological recovery of citizens has also been submitted to the government.

Draft law No. 14403 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which provides for the return of days off on public holidays. The document proposes to restore the norms regarding the specifics of recording working time and rest time, which were suspended after the introduction of martial law, reports UNN.
Details
Before the start of the full-scale war, Ukrainians had additional days off on public holidays, including Christmas, Easter, Trinity Sunday, Constitution Day and Independence Day. However, after the introduction of martial law, these norms were temporarily abolished to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the economy and state institutions.
The draft law proposes to return the previous procedure for organizing work on holidays and non-working days, restoring the practice of granting additional days off.
A petition was also submitted to the government
In parallel with the legislative initiative, a petition was submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers demanding the restoration of official days off on public holidays. The authors of the appeal emphasize the need for psychological recovery of citizens in the conditions of a prolonged war.
The petition notes that Ukrainians have been living under constant psychological pressure for more than four years due to hostilities, regular air raids and night attacks. Despite this, citizens continue to work, support the economy and help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The initiators believe that the return of holiday days off will help reduce stress levels, improve the psycho-emotional state of the population and contribute to maintaining social resilience in wartime conditions. Currently, the draft law is under consideration by parliament.
