In the Polish city of Łódź, an unknown person attacked a local resident, mistakenly believing him to be Ukrainian. The victim, who is actually a Polish citizen, sustained serious injuries to the head, nose, and jaw. This was reported by RMF24, as conveyed by UNN.

The incident occurred on July 11 at around 2:00 PM on Aleja Piłsudskiego between Przędzalniana Street and Aleja Smigłego-Rydza.
According to Łódź city police spokesperson Maksymilian Jasiak, the attacker approached the man who was talking on the phone, struck him, and then began insulting him, stating that "he has no place in Poland."
As the police established, the attacker perceived the victim as Ukrainian and struck him twice on the head. As a result of the attack, the man suffered a broken nose and jaw injuries. He was hospitalized, and the next day he filed a crime report with the police.
Law enforcement officers are currently searching for the attacker. The police noted that the final motive for his actions can only be determined after his arrest and interrogation.
Investigators have already retrieved CCTV footage from the area where the attack occurred and are urging potential witnesses to contact the police.
