Poland has set a deadline for Ukrainians with temporary protection. Refugees must update their data in the PESEL UKR register by August 31, 2026, to avoid losing temporary protection. This was reported by UNN with reference to the country's government.
Details
This concerns those Ukrainians who:
- have children whose PESEL was issued without a passport, and
later the child received their own foreign travel document;
- after obtaining PESEL, received a new foreign
passport or changed personal data;
- received temporary protection only on the basis of an application
or birth certificate, but do not have a foreign passport.
To update PESEL UKR, you need to contact the authorities of any gmina or any city in Poland, and you must have a valid foreign passport.
If necessary, you must undergo re-identification and provide fingerprints. It is not possible to update personal data remotely.
Reminder
Poland's Minister of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, stated that all Ukrainians of conscription age currently in Poland should return to Ukraine and join the ranks of the Armed Forces.
