Fewer companies closed in Ukraine this year than before the war

Since March 2022, only 6482 Ukrainian companies have begun to close, and 17% of them have gone bankrupt. The rate of closures in 2023 is three times lower compared to the same period in 2021.

It is noted that this year, on average, 479 businesses are shutting down per month. This is almost three times less than in the same period in 2021
NGOs are the most frequently closed - 1068 companies. Wholesale trade enterprises are in second place - 826 companies, and agricultural companies are closing the anti-top - 492492 cases.
According to statistics, most businesses are closed in Kyiv - 893 cases, followed by Lviv region 526 companies. Dnipropetrovska oblast is also in the top three, with 479 businesses closing down there.

The most high-profile bankruptcy of the year is the process of closing down the Ukrainian airline UIA, associated with Ihor Kolomoisky.
In addition, the top 3 companies in the process of closure by turnover are Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, Azovstal, and one of the companies of the WOG chain.
