Aptera Solar EV: Solar electric vehicle makes historic journey
Kyiv • UNN
Aptera Solar EV - an ultra-light car with solar panels, made a trip from Arizona to California. The company has received over 48,000 orders for the production model.

After nearly 20 years of development, San Diego, California-based startup Aptera has made a historic journey with its solar-powered electric vehicle (EV).
UNN reports with reference to Aptera, Expansión and Backfire News.
Details
Aptera, a Carlsbad, California-based startup, claims to have received more than 48,000 orders for its upcoming production vehicle.
Recently, company co-founder Steve Fambro drove the company's production car 480 kilometers from Arizona to California. This was a significant breakthrough in verifying the project in real-world conditions.
Reference about autonomous vehicle
Aptera Solar EV is an ultra-lightweight autonomous vehicle covered in solar panels that uses solar energy to power its batteries.
The range on a full charge is up to 650 kilometers, although the first models are designed for short trips of up to 65 kilometers, as they are currently being tested.
One of the biggest advantages of the electric car is its care for the environment, as it does not produce any waste or pollutants due to its fully electric aerodynamic efficiency, Expansión reports.
Details: how the startup made a historic journey
The nearly 500 km journey, which began in Flagstaff, Arizona, involved frequent stops. For example, the first was at the Bearizona Wildlife Park, a full 31 miles from Flagstaff.
Cynical people might say this shows how much charge this little creature can get from the sun
Nevertheless, Aptera is a vehicle that pushes boundaries. With its high performance, the Aptera solar electric car has the potential to transform sustainable mobility.
Another important point: Aptera Solar EV is a three-wheeled vehicle that must be registered as a motorcycle. This is convenient where drivers require a motorcycle license or permission to drive under certain conditions.
Some may be put off by the Aptera's shape. But this shape is designed for maximum aerodynamics, allowing the Aptera Solar EV to travel greater distances on a single charge.

That's why the interior is quite simple: two Corbeau seats, five-point seat belts, steering wheel, pedals, touchscreen and not much else.
Bringing to life, at least in pre-production form, a fully electric vehicle that has solar panels built into the skin that provide solar power is certainly intriguing.
