Alain Delon died on August 18 at the age of 88. One of his posthumous wishes was that his 10-year-old Belgian Malinois named Lubo be put to sleep and buried with him. The French animal rights charity, the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, reported on social media site X that Delon's daughter confirmed that Lubo will live, he has a home and a family.
Earlier, the French animal protection organization SPA also expressed concern about this issue, noting that “an animal's life should not depend on a human's” and suggested finding a new family for the dog.
Back in 2018, Alain Delon told Paris Match magazine that he wanted to be buried with the dog he “loved like a child.
I have had 50 dogs in my life, but I have a special relationship with this one. She gets bored when I'm not around. If I die early, I will ask the vet to let us go together. They will give her an injection so that she can die in my arms. It's better than knowing that the dog will die of terrible suffering on my grave
At least 35 of his dogs are buried in the chapel at the cemetery on Delon's La Bruillerie estate .
