Eurostar also confirmed plans in its statement to launch one additional train from London to Paris and from Paris to London. Each train has 882 seats.

An explosion occurred at a substation in the London suburb of Hayes, leaving thousands of people without electricity, and Britain's largest airport, Heathrow, stopped operating. As a result, more than 1,000 flights were canceled, and tens of thousands of passengers were unable to reach their destinations.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Thursday. The cause of the fire has not yet been established. It is reported that a transformer was burning at the substation. About 150 people were evacuated from nearby houses. Ten fire engines and about 70 firefighters continue to work at the scene.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks reported a large-scale power outage in the area, affecting more than 16,300 homes.
