48 out of 74 Russian missiles and 476 out of 496 drones neutralized over Ukraine, peculiarity of Russian attack is a large number of ballistic missiles and jet drones

Russia launched 74 missiles at Ukraine overnight, including 4 "Zircon" and 24 ballistic missiles, and 496 drones; 48 missiles, including 4 ballistic, and 476 drones were shot down or suppressed, with 25 ballistic missiles and 12 drones hitting their targets, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Thursday, writes UNN.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the night of July 2 (from 6:00 p.m. on July 1), the enemy launched a massive combined strike on Ukraine using attack UAVs, air-, ground-, and sea-based missiles of various types.

"The main direction of the strike was Kyiv. A feature of the massive attack was the simultaneous use of various types of air attack weapons from different directions, employing a large number of ballistic missiles and jet UAVs," the statement said.

In total, the Air Force's radar troops recorded 570 air attack assets – 74 missiles and 496 UAVs of various types:

• 4 anti-ship missiles 3M22 "Zircon" (launch area – Kursk region, russia);
• 24 ballistic missiles Iskander-M/S-400 (launch areas – Bryansk, Kursk regions, russia);
• 34 cruise missiles Kh-101 (launch area – Vologda region, russia);
• 8 cruise missiles Kalibr (launch area – Novorossiysk, russia);
• 4 guided air missiles Kh-59/69 (launch area – Voronezh region, russia);
• 496 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types, "Banderol" loitering munitions, and "Parody" decoy drones (from directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – russia, TOT Donetsk, Gvardiyske TOT AR Crimea).

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m., air defense shot down/suppressed 524 targets – 48 missiles and 476 drones of various types: 4 ballistic missiles Iskander-M/S-400; 32 cruise missiles Kh-101; 8 cruise missiles Kalibr; 4 guided air missiles Kh-59/69; 476 enemy UAVs of various types. According to preliminary information, as of 9:00 a.m., hits were recorded from 25 ballistic missiles and 12 attack UAVs at 33 locations, as well as the fall of shot-down (debris) UAVs at 18 locations. Information on several missiles is being clarified.

The attack continues; there are several attack UAVs in the airspace of Ukraine.
