Over the last day, 168 combat engagements took place, most of them in the Pokrovsk sector - 40 attacks. The enemy launched one missile attack and made 4,500 attacks, using 1,864 kamikaze drones.
168 combat engagements took place on the frontline over the past day, with the largest number of them recorded in the Pokrovsk sector - 40, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a morning report on December 31, UNN reports.

Yesterday, the enemy launched one missile attack at the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using one missile. In addition, it made almost 4,500 attacks, including 198 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 1,864 kamikaze drones to attack.
"Yesterday, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces conducted four strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel and weapons, an ammunition depot and six other important enemy targets," the report says.

In the Kharkiv sector, two enemy attacks were repelled in the vicinity of Vovchansk and Liptsi.
In the Kupyansk sector, 16 occupants' attacks took place over the last day. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kruhlyakivka and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 22 times. He tried to advance near the settlements of Kopanky, Nadiya, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Ivanivka and Terny.
The enemy once tried to force our defenders out of their positions near Bilohorivka in the Siversky sector by assault.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupants attacked 12 times in the areas of Chasovyi Yar and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out 12 attacks near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, our defenders stopped 40 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Zelene, Dachenske, Novyi Trud, Shevchenko, Vovkove, Novooleynivka and Novoolezavetivka.
Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 21 attacks in the Kurakhove sector. The enemy made the main efforts in the areas of Petropavlivka, Slovianka, Shevchenko and Kurakhove.
On the Vremivsky direction, the enemy made 17 attacks on our positions near Yantarne, Uspenivka, Vremivka and in the direction of Kostyantynopil and Novosilka.
In the Orikhivsky direction, the enemy twice tried to advance in the direction of Novoandriivka.
On the Prydniprovsky direction, Russian invaders attacked our positions three times. We received a tough rebuff and suffered losses.
No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy is actively using artillery and UAVs in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation.
"In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 attacks by the invading army," the report said.
Our soldiers inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces and actively undermine the enemy's offensive potential in the rear.
