Addendum

Earlier it was reported that the law will come into force in 30 days, but the UOC-MP communities will have 9 months to break ties with the ROC.

MPs finally passed Bill No. 8371 by 265 votes, which provides for a ban on the activities of religious organizations affiliated with the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

The draft law was developed to implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of December 1, 2022. It amends a number of laws and makes it impossible for religious organizations whose governing center is located in Russia to operate in Ukraine.
