Trump will transfer the Kennedy Center to Congress following a court injunction against its closure. The judge also ordered the removal of the president's name from the building's facade.

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he is ready to hand over control of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to Congress after a federal court blocked his plans for the facility's closure and renovation. This was reported by Bloomberg, according to UNN.

In a social media post, Trump criticized the court's decision and stated: "I will work with Congress to turn this dysfunctional institution over to them so they can decide what to do with it." According to him, lawmakers will be responsible for the future management of the center.
Earlier, Judge Christopher Cooper ruled to remove Trump's name from the building and stated that the center must be named exclusively after President John F. Kennedy. The court also blocked the decision for a two-year closure of the facility for renovations.
Bloomberg notes that this marks another blow to the president's plans to reshape the appearance of Washington's historic sites. At the same time, the court did not prohibit renovation work at the Kennedy Center if such a decision is made after proper consideration.
