Transplantation becomes a system in Ukrainian medical care, 131 organ operations performed since the beginning of 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, 131 organ transplants were performed in 19 medical institutions across Ukraine, of which 67% were from deceased donors and 33% from living donors, which demonstrates the efficiency and development of the transplantation system.
Between January and March 2024, 131 organ transplants were performed in 19 medical institutions. The ratio is almost 70% from deceased donors and 33% from living donors. The relevant data indicate the effectiveness of the transplantation system, UNN reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Health.
In just three months of this year, 131 organ transplants were performed in 19 medical institutions. The proportion of transplants from deceased donors remains higher - 67% (33% from living donors). This ratio is an important indicator of the efficiency and development of the transplantation system
According to the official statistics of the Ministry of Health, the First Medical Association of Lviv performed the most organ transplants - 39 operations.
The following is also noted:
Shalimov National Scientific Center of Surgery and Transplantation - 23 transplants;
Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine - 15 transplants.
It is reported that 10 transplant centers performed 109 hematopoietic stem cell transplants in the first quarter, including 14 for children.
The Cherkasy Clinical Oncology Center provided the most patients with such medical care - 18 people, as well as the Kyiv City Center for Nephrology and Dialysis (18) and the National Cancer Institute (18).
As for complex allogeneic transplants from unrelated donors, the largest number (7) of transplants was performed at the NSCLC Okhmatdyt.
