This is not enough: Zelensky on permission to hit the Russian Federation with long-range weapons
Kyiv • UNN
The president of Ukraine commented on the permit for the use of Western weapons at Russian facilities. Zelensky called this decision correct, but belated, and stressed the need to increase the number of systems.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that allowing Western weapons to hit objects on the territory of the Russian Federation is an excellent decision, but this decision was belated and Ukraine needs systems that can hit objects on the territory of the Russian Federation. Zelensky stated this in an interview with Sky News, reports UNN.
"It's the same as it was with air defense. Are Patriot effective? Yeah. Are they enough to protect the entire power grid? No. In those regions where Patriot stands, is there a more or less normal situation with the energy sector? Yes, but we need more such systems. Are there such complexes in Europe? Yes, but we need the political will of our partners (...). About long-range weapons. Yes, it is very important to us. In the beginning, when Russia was ready to continue its offensive, we needed these weapons for a counteroffensive a year ago. Russia knew that at that time we did not have the opportunity to destroy them. Is it a good decision (on the use of long - range weapons in the Russian Federation-Ed.)? Yeah. Is it too late? Yeah. Are there enough such complexes? Not enough. We have the right to fire only at military facilities," Zelensky said.
He noted that Ukraine has a list of missiles that it needs, which Russian objects need to be hit.
Recall
President Zelensky statedthat Ukraine needs not only permission to use long-range weapons at Russian facilities , but also its actual receipt. He noted that this issue depends on the United States, Britain, France and Germany.
