A series of murders took place in the Dunkirk area: two port security guards and two migrants in Lune Plage were shot dead. A fifth victim is found in Wormhout, the suspect has surrendered to the authorities.
Five people were shot dead this Saturday, December 14, in Lune-Plage and Wormhout, in France. The victims include two security agents and two migrants, reports UNN citing BFMTV.
The victims, two security agents and two migrants, were killed in two different locations, Mayor Eric Rommel said. The two agents were patrolling the port area when they were attacked, he said.
Next, two migrants were killed, also between Loon Beach and Dunkirk, the counselor adds, unable to provide any information on the profile or motives of the killer, who was supposed to “originate from an urban area” of Dunkirk.
“A tragic tragedy occurred this afternoon. One man killed several people in cold blood in Flanders and on our coast,” Patrick Vergriete, mayor of Dunkirk and president of the urban community of Dunkirk, reacted to X.

A man who claimed to be the perpetrator of the murders contacted the Givelde gendarmerie. He indicated that he was the author of the fifth murder that took place in Wormhout, a source close to the investigation said.
Northern firefighters say they were called to intervene at 3:15 p.m. about this homicide. According to the Northern Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS), it involves a 29-year-old man found “on a public road and lying with a bullet hole” who died at the scene.
The circumstances of these tragedies are still unknown at this point. A judicial investigation is open, the prefecture told AFP news agency.
