The updated bill, which Senator Richard Blumenthal (Democrat from Connecticut) is pushing through the Senate, will still require approval from the House of Representatives. According to a person familiar with the matter, there are currently at least 61 co-sponsors, of which 39 are Republicans and 22 are Democrats
It is noted that the bill being pushed in the US Senate will still need to be approved by the House of Representatives.
