The state must assess both sides - Lubinets after the incident with the TCC in Lviv

The state must provide a legal assessment of violations in a timely manner, regardless of who committed them. This was stated by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, commenting on the incident with the TCC in Lviv, reports UNN.

He emphasized that he strongly condemns any attacks on military personnel.

Obstruction of their lawful activities, violence, and damage to official property contain signs of a criminal offense. This is not a way to protect one's rights or a form of protest. This is a violation of the law that must receive a proper legal assessment

- the ombudsman noted.

According to him, it is necessary to form transparent, clear, and fair rules that will equally protect both state interests and human rights.

"That is why I am appealing to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with a call to urgently create a working group for a comprehensive review and improvement of mobilization procedures," Lubinets summarized.

Context

The National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine are conducting pre-trial investigations into the events in Lviv, where a crowd blocked, damaged, and overturned an official vehicle of the military TCC.

The incident occurred on July 8 in Lviv, in the Sykhiv district. The crowd tried to "free" a man from TCC workers under shouts of "shame" and began to beat the official TCC vehicle, which, according to local public reports, was overturned. The police and the local TCC stated that the conflict arose due to the detention of a military-liable man who was wanted.

The head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported at night that "an urgent meeting with law enforcement officers was held regarding the situation with the blocking of TCC vehicles in Sykhiv."

The head of the Presidential Office, former head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov, reacted to the conflict involving the crowd and TCC representatives in Lviv, stating that he expects a "fair" response from law enforcement agencies.

About 200 civilians took part in the clashes involving the crowd, TCC, and police in Lviv, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported, stating that an investigation has been launched into the incident involving military personnel, police, and civilians.
