The leadership of the RTRC and SP in Mykolaiv region will face trial based on materials from the State Bureau of Investigation. Officials are suspected of torturing a man, reports UNN citing the SBI.

Details

As the investigation established, in 2024, employees of the recruitment center brought to the TRC a father of many children, who is raising five children and had health issues. After a compulsory military medical commission, the man was deemed fit for military service.

However, two military units refused to accept the man for service due to his health condition. But this did not stop the TRC employees - they decided to fulfill the mobilization plan at any cost.

For 9 days, they held the man in a basement facility, using physical violence and psychological pressure against him. They demanded that he agree to mobilization supposedly voluntarily or sign documents stating no claims against the TRC employees.

When they saw the consequences of the beating - numerous swellings and bodily injuries on the victim's body - they released him. Once free, the man immediately sought medical help.

As a result of the unlawful actions by the TRC, he suffered a concussion, a broken arm and rib, numerous abrasions, as well as infected wounds from being tied up.

The acting head of the fourth department of the Voznesensk RTCC and SP of Mykolaiv region and two of his subordinates will face trial. They are charged with torture and illegal deprivation of liberty committed by a group of persons (Part 3 of Article 127, Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This carries a penalty of up to 12 years in prison.
