The IAEA is not a victim of the Ukrainian nuclear forces and the Russian Federation's missile attacks-Greenpeace
Kyiv • UNN
The IAEA does not fulfill its promises to protect Ukrainian nuclear power plants from Russian missile attacks. In three months, only six days of inspections were conducted, despite two massive attacks by the Russian Federation.
The organization Greenpeace of Central and Eastern Europe criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for the lack of active actions in ensuring the protection of Ukrainian nuclear power plants during missile attacks by Russia. This statement was issued by the organization Greenpeace of Central and Eastern Europe, reports UNN.

Environmentalists expressed concern about the lack of practical steps on the part of the IAEA, despite preliminary agreements. Back in September, the agency's director general, Raphael Grossi, agreed to expand inspections to include electrical substations, which are often targets of Russian shelling.
It is noted that despite the agency's promises, only six days of inspections were conducted in three months, the last of which took place in October 2024. During this period, Russia launched two massive strikes, threatening the stability of the Ukrainian energy system and the safety of nuclear facilities.
The IAEA is fully aware of the danger, but has not yet taken any real action. The future Grossi is talking about has already arrived, and the situation is extreme when every hour counts. Words do not save Ukraine's nuclear power plants from the threat of missile strikes. Where are the agency's specific plans to fully protect critical infrastructure and prevent a potential nuclear catastrophe?
The environmental organization called on the agency to immediately implement its promises and take measures to protect Ukrainian nuclear power plants that are at constant risk due to Russia's aggressive actions.
