The blockade of the border by Polish farmers has caused significant losses to Ukrainian producers, processors and logistics companies: according to the deputy head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, Denys Marchuk, unpaid customs duties amounted to UAH 6.3 billion in March alone.

The blocking of the border by Polish farmers has a negative impact on the agricultural business. The losses incurred by commodity producers, processors, and logistics companies amount to significant amounts.

This was announced during a briefing by Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council Denys Marchuk, reports UNN.

In general, of course, it had a negative impact. If we start counting from November, every month we lose customs duties, and according to the head of the Tax and Customs Policy Committee, Hetmantsev, the losses in March alone due to non-payment of customs duties amounted to UAH 6.3 billion. This is a huge amount of money for a country at war, and if we take into account the direct and indirect losses incurred by producers, processors, and logistics companies, it is a much larger amount

- Marchuk said.

He noted that two checkpoints on the border with Poland remain blocked.

Last week, Ukraine held intensive talks with Poland. Not only at the level of intergovernmental teams, but also specialized agricultural associations were involved. The situation is such that we managed to agree on a number of products that will not be subject to licensing and the dialogue will continue. We are talking about sugar and raspberries. Literally, raspberries and sugar will be discussed this week in Ukraine. But the key issue is transit and unblocking the border

- Marchuk added.
