The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not rule out that Belarus may allow Russian aircraft to use its territory for potential strikes against Ukraine.
The Air Force of Ukraine does not rule out the possibility of air strikes from the territory of Belarus. This was reported by the spokesman for the command of the Air Force of Ukraine, Ilya Yevlash, during a telethon, and added that they are monitoring the movement of aircraft, UNN reports.
When asked what threat Belarusian aviation could pose to Ukraine now, Yevlash answered:
We have already seen how the Belarusian so-called president has already provided territory for the Russian troops to advance during the beginning of a full-scale invasion. Of course, we do not exclude the use of air power from its territory, as aviation is a highly mobile branch of the armed forces.
He noted that the Air Force of Ukraine is ready for different scenarios.
"We monitor the movement of aircraft, their takeoffs. We use different types of information for this purpose, both our intelligence and that of our partners," Yevlash said.
