“Russian “trial” of Azov regiment prisoners is a farce and a legally insignificant performance - Center for Strategic Communications
Kyiv • UNN
The Center for Strategic Communications of Ukraine condemned the trial of 23 Ukrainian prisoners of war in Rostov-on-Don. The Russian prosecutor's office is demanding 16 to 24 years in prison for them, which is considered illegal political persecution.
The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security emphasized that the political trial of Ukrainian prisoners of war from the Azov regiment and civilians is a farce and a legally insignificant performance, UNN reports .
The political trial of 23 Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians continues in Rostov-on-Don. Russian prosecutors are demanding a "sentence" of 16 to 24 years in prison. Russia has no legitimate legal grounds to prosecute the 23 Ukrainian prisoners. This case is politically motivated and illegal
It is noted that Azovstal's defenders, who were guaranteed an exchange by Russia, women who held non-combat positions, and even civilians who left military service before the full-scale invasion, were in the dock.
It is also reported that one of the "defendants" of the prisoners of war, Oleksandr Ishchenko, was tortured to death by Russian sadists.
The shameful performance in Rostov-on-Don is aimed at satisfying the perverted expectations of the Russian crowd. And it destroys the reputation of Russia in the world. We will definitely get our people out of Russian captivity. Moscow will be forced to give them back, given the serious replenishment of the exchange fund by the Defense Forces
