The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights announced consultations on the exchange of prisoners of war with Russia with the help of partners. The Ukrainian military increases the exchange fund during the operation in the Kursk region.

Consultations are underway with the help of partners on the exchange of prisoners of war with Russia. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets to journalists, UNN reports.

Ukraine has always taken and continues to take initiatives that can bring Ukrainian citizens home from Russian captivity. I have publicly stated that, yes, after the start of the military operation in the Kursk region, an initiative was taken by the Russian side. That's all I can tell you for now. When the time comes and the Ukrainian citizens are physically returned from Russian captivity, you will know about it for sure. Everything is being done by Ukraine with the help of our partners, and this is one of the issues we are constantly discussing during our working meetings

- Lubinets said.

According to him, the process is ongoing.

"So far, as of now, the process is ongoing. It was going on before, and it continues after the start of the Kursk operation. These are not negotiations, they are consultations with the help of our partners," Lubinets said.

Addendum

Lubinets said that Russia has initiated a conversation with Ukraine on the exchange of prisoners from the Kursk region.

Earlier, the Ombudsman stated that the Ukrainian military is increasing the exchange fund during the operation in the Kursk region of Russia. This strengthens Ukraine's position.
