According to the document, the aggression of any state from the military coalition against Russia or its allies is considered as an aggression of the entire coalition.

In the event of aggression by a non-nuclear state with the support of a nuclear state, russia will consider it a joint attack. russia will use nuclear weapons as a response to the use of weapons of mass destruction.

The document emphasizes that the doctrine is defensive in nature.

According to rosSIA, Putin approved the revised concept amidst the US authorization to use Western missiles to hit targets in Russia.  The amendments, which the Kremlin says are “a certain signal to the West,” were announced in the summer.
