As noted by the FISU, the relevant data were presented in the report of "Rospotrebnadzor" on the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population of the Russian Federation for 2025.

According to it, the worst air pollution indicators were recorded in Khakassia, where 4.5% of samples exceed the maximum permissible concentrations. Also among the anti-leaders are Altai Krai with a rate of 3.43% and Krasnoyarsk Krai, where exceedances were recorded in 2.24% of samples.

At the same time, the overall level of atmospheric pollution in the Russian Federation formally decreased: the share of samples exceeding standards in cities was up to 0.69%, in rural areas up to 0.32%. However, according to FISU data, air pollution near highways in residential areas is increasing and already reaches 1.06% of samples exceeding permissible levels.

In addition, the report addresses soil pollution. The share of soil samples that do not meet standards is 8.4% for bacteriological indicators, 3.51% for chemical indicators, and 0.64% for parasitic indicators. The highest level of chemical soil pollution was recorded in North Ossetia-Alania, where 55.7% of samples do not meet standards. In Khabarovsk Krai, this figure is 19.5%.

According to microbiological indicators, the worst situation is in the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, where 47.4% of soil samples do not meet standards. In Khabarovsk Krai, this figure reaches 35.2%.

The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine emphasized that the data presented in the Russian report indicate a systemic deterioration of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the Russian Federation and a significant impact of environmental pollution on public health.
