Ukraine has left the amount of prize money for the Olympians unchanged. According to the acting Minister of Sports, the main motivation of the athletes now is to win and represent the country in the international arena.

Ukraine has retained the size of the prize money for the Olympians, but the motivation of our athletes is different now, acting Minister of Youth and Sports Matviy Bidnyi said during a telethon on Friday, UNN reports.

"They did not change the size of the prize money," said Bidnyi.

According to the acting minister, a Ukrainian athlete will receive $125,000 from the state for the first place, and "it will decrease to $50,000 for bronze.

"But I am convinced that this is not the biggest motivation for our athletes today. Everyone thinks only about our approaching victory and understands the importance of personal performances and the presence of the national team at these competitions. When someone sees our flag and coat of arms, everyone comes and expresses their support," said Bidnyi.
