In Kyiv, a man has been notified of suspicion for allegedly organizing the illegal sale of firearms and their components via automated parcel lockers. According to the investigation, he modified weapons and shipped their parts using fictitious data and third-party phone numbers, potentially earning about 200,000 hryvnias. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, according to UNN.
Under the procedural guidance of the Obolon District Prosecutor's Office, a resident of Kyiv has been notified of suspicion regarding the illegal sale of firearms and their components (Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It was established that the man organized a scheme to sell firearms, which he modified himself, through parcel lockers. For "conspiracy" purposes, the suspect used fictitious data and someone else's mobile phone numbers.
Consequently, through parcel lockers in the Podilskyi and Obolon districts, he sent packages containing components of a "Fort-12RM" short-barreled firearm that had been converted into a lethal weapon, as well as components for an "M4A1" rifled automatic weapon with the serial numbers removed.
The seller has been detained. He planned to receive 200,000 hryvnias for the modified weapons.
The sanction of the article provides for up to 7 years of imprisonment.
It is noted that four other indictments against this man for similar crimes are currently pending in courts.
