Majority of combat engagements in the Pokrovsk sector today, six combat actions continue near Vovchansk - General Staff

Most combat engagements took place today in the Pokrovsk sector, where Russian occupants, supported by air force, made 16 attempts to force Ukrainian defenders from their positions, 13 attacks have already been repelled and 3 are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the largest number of clashes occurred since the beginning of the day, six battles are ongoing near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv sector, in the Toretsk sector the enemy is concentrating its efforts in the areas of Pivnichne and New York, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a summary as of 16 July, UNN reports.

"The situation in the combat areas and on the front line is tense, however, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy from implementing its plans and destroying its personnel and equipment. In total, 69 combat engagements have taken place since the beginning of the day," the General Staff reported.
According to the General Staff, the situation is as follows:
Border areas of Sumy and of Chernihiv regions are under systematic fire from enemy artillery and MLRS. A number of border settlements, such as Pokrovka, Popivka, Ugroids, Luhivka, and Novomykolaivka, have suffered from enemy terrorist attacks. The enemy also conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities.
At the same time, Kharkiv region is under constant fire from enemy aircraft. Today terrorists dropped 17 UAVs. They targeted the areas of Hlyboke, Liptsi, Vesele, Vetarine and Vovchansk. In addition, in the Kharkiv sector, Russian occupants attempted ten times to storm the defensive lines of Ukrainian troops in the areas of Hlyboke and Vovchansk. Six combat engagements are currently underway near Vovchansk. The situation is under control of our troops.
In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy twice actively attacked the positions of our units near Stelmakhivka, and the fighting is still ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold the line.
Today, in the Lyman sector, the invading army, supported by aviation, launched three attacks on Ukrainian positions near Makiivka and Terny. Two of the engagements ended without success for the enemy, and one is ongoing.
The enemy is also active on the Siversky direction. Near the settlements of Razdolivka, Bilohorivka and Verkhnekamianske, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks, while four more enemy attempts failed. The situation is under control.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupants made five assaults on the positions of our troops near Chasovyi Yar and Hryhorivka. Two attacks are still ongoing. The enemy attacked Chasovyi Yar with attack aircraft.
In the Toretsk sector, the number of enemy attacks increased to nine. The enemy is concentrating its efforts in the areas of Northern and New York. Ukrainian troops repelled four enemy attacks, five more combat engagements are ongoing. The occupiers are actively using aviation in this area, in particular, the areas of Pivnichne, Toretsk and New York were bombed, the enemy dropped 12 drones and used unguided aerial missiles.
The Pokrovske sector saw the largest number of combat engagements. Since the beginning of the day, the occupants, supported by bombers and attack aircraft, have made sixteen attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Progress, Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka and Yasnobrodivka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and have so far repelled 13 enemy attacks, three attacks are still ongoing. The enemy's losses are being clarified.
Fighting continues near Krasnohorivka, Karlivka and Paraskoviivka in the Kurakhove sector. According to the updated information, ten attacks of the occupation army were repelled in the area today.
In the Vremivsky sector, Ukrainian troops repelled four enemy attacks near Kostiantynivka, Vodiane and Makarivka.
On the Orikhiv direction, the occupants made two unsuccessful attempts to attack our units near Mala Tokmachka and in the direction of Novoandriivka.
At the Prydniprovsky direction, the enemy continues to try to drive our units from their positions. Two unsuccessful assaults by enemy infantry were repelled by Ukrainian soldiers.
