Ukraine needs to achieve military success and build a coalition in support of Zelenskyy's peace formula to force Putin into serious negotiations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will enter into serious negotiations only when his military position is "close to collapse." To achieve this , Ukraine should pursue a dual strategy: "success on the battlefield" and the creation of a coalition of countries in support of the Ukrainian Wall Formula. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba  in an interview with The Guardian, reports UNN

According to The Guardian, Kuleba in an interview dismissed those who claim that after more than two years of full-scale war, it is time for Ukraine to negotiate. According to him, from 2014 to the invasion of 2022, "200 rounds of discussions" were held with the Kremlin.

According to the foreign minister, some supported the peace talks because they were naïve about them. Others "played for Putin". The third category "did not understand Russia" or its president. They were mistakenly convinced that it was necessary to negotiate with the devil, Kuleba said.

According to the minister, Putin will only enter into serious negotiations when his military position is "close to collapse." To achieve this, Ukraine should pursue a dual strategy: "success on the battlefield" and the creation of a coalition of countries that will support President Zelenskyy's peace formula, which includes the withdrawal of Russian troops, reparations, and a war crimes tribunal.
