During the hearings, Israel's Permanent Representative to the UN, Danny Danon, sharply criticized the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, Vanessa Fraser, as well as the Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Pramila Patten. The reason was a UN report in which Israel was included for the first time in the so-called "blacklist" for alleged violations of children's rights and cases of sexual violence during the conflict.

You have succumbed to the Secretary-General's obsession with attacks against Israel

– Danon stated, addressing Patten and referring to UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

After these words, Fraser intervened in the discussion and called on the Israeli diplomat to refrain from personal attacks. She also emphasized that the UN's conclusions are based on verified evidence.

In response, Danon reacted sharply to her remarks.

We are a member state, and you work for the UN, so be quiet now. You be quiet... you and your shameful report

– said the Israeli diplomat.

This week, the UN released a report warning that Israeli settler groups could also be added to the global blacklist due to possible violations of Palestinian children's rights. At the same time, the organization's reports included the Palestinian group Hamas in the list of parties involved in violations.
