The chemical plant "Azot" in the city of Novomoskovsk, Tula region of Russia, was again attacked by drones on the night of June 27. Local residents reported numerous explosions, and the target of the strike was likely the plant itself. This is reported by ASTRA, writes UNN.

According to the publication, explosions were heard throughout the night, but there is currently no information about the consequences of the attack or possible damage. Russian authorities have not officially commented on the incident.
This is not the first attack on the plant. On the night of June 14, the chemical plant was also hit by a drone strike, after which a fire broke out on its territory.
Novomoskovsk "Azot" is one of the largest producers of ammonia, nitrogen fertilizers, methanol, chlorine, caustic soda, and other chemical products in Russia.
As Reuters previously reported, in 2022-2024, the plant, together with the Nevinnomyssk Nitrogen Plant, supplied tens of thousands of tons of acetic and nitric acids to the Sverdlov plant, which are used in the production of explosives, including RDX and HMX for artillery ammunition.
